Symmetry’s Client Services Coordinator Melissa Wellmon recently traveled to the Philippines on a global outreach program where she provided nurturing to more than 5,000 people. Over the course of three weeks, Melissa traveled to various hospitals, sanctuaries and communities throughout the Philippines to teach social and childcare workers, mothers, and young people how to provide nurturing at work and at home.
“This is the real sustainability factor,” explains Melissa. “Teaching boundaries of touch and nurturing with permission, along with the right techniques, can make a profound difference in children's lives as they grow with confidence into our future.”
Donations from the Symmetry family helped Melissa raise $5,000 to support her journey. “I would have never had the opportunity to help and learn to teach this if it weren't for Symmetry. I am forever grateful for being able to do my part to give to others and to share this experience with our community to promote sustainable growth!”
